NCERT Releases New Class 9 Mathematics Textbook, Social Science Book Due September 30

The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has released the new Class 9 Mathematics textbook for the 2026-27 academic session, with the revised Social Science textbook scheduled to become available on September 30.

The textbook releases are part of the ongoing transition towards revised school curriculum and learning materials under India’s education reform framework.

NCERT made the new Mathematics textbook available from September 21. The Social Science textbook is scheduled for release on September 30, providing schools and students with additional revised learning material for Class 9.

The Class 9 curriculum is particularly important because students entering the secondary stage encounter a greater degree of subject specialisation and more structured academic assessment. Changes in textbooks can therefore influence classroom teaching, lesson planning and examination preparation.

The revised textbooks are being introduced as part of the broader process of aligning school education resources with updated curriculum frameworks.
