Nagaland University has opened admissions for its Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUGP) in B.Sc. Honours and Honours with Research for the 2026–27 academic session. Admissions will be conducted through CUET UG 2026, offering students an opportunity to pursue undergraduate science programmes under the framework of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The online application process will remain open until July 15, 2026.
The university is offering admissions in five major science disciplines through the FYUGP structure, which provides greater academic flexibility, multidisciplinary learning and research opportunities. Students opting for the Honours with Research track will have the opportunity to undertake research projects during the final year, preparing them for higher studies and research careers.
Candidates seeking admission must have appeared for CUET UG 2026 and meet the eligibility criteria prescribed by the university. Admissions will be based on CUET scores, programme-specific requirements and the university’s counselling process. Applicants are advised to carefully review the admission guidelines and complete the application before the closing date.
Education experts believe the FYUGP model represents a major shift in India’s higher education system by promoting interdisciplinary education, multiple entry-exit options and research-based learning. The programme also enables students to develop analytical, practical and problem-solving skills that align with evolving academic and industry requirements.
The curriculum has been designed to combine core science subjects with skill-based courses, value-added learning and elective subjects, providing students with broader academic exposure. The initiative reflects the growing emphasis on flexible learning pathways under NEP 2020.
University officials have encouraged eligible candidates to keep all necessary documents, including CUET scorecards, Class 10 and 12 certificates, category certificates (if applicable) and identity proof, ready for the admission process. Students should also regularly monitor the university portal for updates regarding merit lists, counselling schedules and document verification.
The opening of FYUGP admissions marks another step in expanding quality higher education opportunities in Northeast India. By adopting the NEP-aligned undergraduate framework, Nagaland University aims to strengthen academic excellence, research culture and student employability through a modern, multidisciplinary education system.
