Anna University Makes 30-Hour Career Guidance Training Mandatory for Final-Year Students

Anna University has made a 30-hour career guidance training programme mandatory for all final-year undergraduate and postgraduate students from the 2026 academic session. The initiative is designed to improve students’ employability by equipping them with essential professional and workplace skills before graduation.

The training programme will be integrated into the academic calendar and will focus on key areas such as resume writing, interview preparation, communication skills, aptitude development, group discussions and personality enhancement. University officials believe that structured career guidance will better prepare graduates for campus placements, competitive examinations and higher education opportunities.

Education experts have welcomed the move, stating that technical knowledge alone is no longer sufficient in today’s competitive job market.
