NEET PG 2026: Why More Than 2400 Jaipur Candidates Will Take the Exam Again

Across 339 cities, around 2.66 lakh candidates appeared for the exam at 1,111 centres. However, about 2445 candidates in Jaipur could not complete the exam because of a power supply problem at the exam centres. As a result, these candidates will have to take the exam again on September 5, 2026, at 3 PM in Jaipur.

The affected zones include iON Digital Zone Sitapura, TC Nos. 41682 and 41683. According to NBEMS, the problem was related to the centre’s internal power supply, and TCS was blamed for the same, which has always been the examination conducting agency.

The affected candidates will receive new admit cards, along with re-exam venue and instructions soon. More than 2,60000 candidates have successfully completed the exam.

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) apologised for the inconvenience and promised the affected candidates a fair chance to take the exam again. Just like the previous one, this exam will also be closely monitored using CCTV, Aadhaar authentication and 16 regional command centres. A large team of faculty, senior medical officials, and NBEMS staff and tech teams were deployed to ensure the smooth and secure conduct of the exam.

While the NEET PG 2026 was successfully conducted for most candidates across India, more than 2,445 candidates in Jaipur will retake the exam on September 5 because of a power failure that prevented them from completing their tests.

More recently, some malicious social media handles claimed that the NEET PG 2026 question paper had been leaked in Jaipur. The Press Information Bureau rejected these claims, stating that there was no paper leak in the first place. The PIB stated that the problem at the Jaipur centres was caused by an internal powert supply issue.

The power cut disrupted the computer based examinations affecting the thousands of candidates to login, even access to questions to continue the test. Some candidates said the power cuts happened repeatedly, reportedly every 10–15 minutes. After the exam window ended, affected students protested outside the centre. Candidates and parents were worried because they had spent a lot of time preparing for the exam and are reluctant for the re-exam.

However, the dates have already been announced with the re-exam to be held on 5 September 2026 for candidates affected at test centres 41,682 and 41,683.

The main NEET-PG exam was held nationwide on 30 August 2026. About 2,73,096 candidates were registered, while 2,65,980 candidates appeared for the exam.
Around 2,63,535 candidates completed the examination.
