Why Was the UGC NET Re-Exam Conducted?
The English, Commerce and Sociology papers were conducted again after NTA received complaints concerning errors in the original question papers.
An NTA-constituted committee reviewed the complaints and identified several issues, including factual, typographical and translation errors. The review also identified problems involving question wording, grammar and punctuation, incorrectly presented names and book titles, non-standard terminology and repetition of questions.
The agency subsequently decided that the affected papers should be re-conducted rather than addressing the defects only through the answer-key challenge process.
