The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has announced the Round 3 seat allotment results for JoSAA Counselling 2026, marking another important stage in the admission process for engineering aspirants seeking seats in IITs, NITs, IIITs and other Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs). Candidates can now check their allotted institute and programme through the official JoSAA portal and complete the online reporting process within the prescribed deadline.
Following the announcement of the allotment results, candidates must log in to the counselling portal to accept their allotted seat by choosing the Freeze, Float or Slide option, depending on their admission preference. They are also required to upload the necessary documents, complete online verification and pay the seat acceptance fee to confirm their participation in subsequent counselling stages.
Education experts advise candidates to carefully review the institute, branch and category details mentioned in the allotment letter before confirming their decision. Those satisfied with their allotted seat can select the Freeze option, while candidates seeking better preferences in upcoming rounds may opt for Float or Slide, subject to counselling rules.
JoSAA conducts a centralized admission process for India’s premier engineering institutions, streamlining seat allocation based on JEE Advanced and JEE Main ranks. The counselling system ensures transparent and merit-based admissions while allowing candidates to participate in multiple rounds of seat allocation.
Applicants should keep essential documents—including JEE scorecards, Class 10 and 12 certificates, category certificates (if applicable), photo identity proof and payment receipts—ready during the reporting process. Any discrepancy in document verification may delay admission or lead to cancellation of the allotted seat.
Career counsellors recommend that students evaluate factors such as branch preference, placement opportunities, campus infrastructure, academic environment and future career goals before finalising their admission decision. Candidates planning to participate in further rounds should regularly monitor the official JoSAA website for updated schedules and announcements.
With Round 3 results now available, JoSAA Counselling 2026 enters a crucial phase for engineering admissions across the country’s top technical institutions. Candidates are advised to complete all reporting formalities within the stipulated timeline to avoid losing their allotted seats
