CBSE Announces Class 12 Supplementary Examination 2026; Schools Asked to Submit LOC by July 8

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the Class 12 Supplementary Examination 2026 and directed all affiliated schools to submit the List of Candidates (LOC) through the Pariksha Sangam portal by July 8, 2026. The supplementary examination offers eligible students an opportunity to improve their academic performance without waiting for the next annual board examination.

According to CBSE, schools must complete the online registration process for eligible compartment candidates within the prescribed deadline. Students are advised to contact their respective schools to complete registration, verify their details and ensure timely submission of the required examination fee.

The supplementary examination is intended for students who have been placed in the compartment category after the declaration of the Class 12 board examination results. After successfully clearing the examination, eligible students will receive an updated consolidated marksheet reflecting their final result, allowing them to continue with higher education or employment opportunities without significant delay.

Education experts note that supplementary examinations play an important role in reducing academic setbacks by providing students with a second opportunity to qualify in subjects where they could not secure the required marks. This system helps minimise the loss of an academic year while supporting students in achieving their educational goals.

Schools have been instructed to carefully verify candidate information before submitting the LOC to avoid discrepancies during the examination process. Career counsellors advise compartment candidates to utilise the available preparation time effectively by revising the syllabus, practising previous years’ question papers and strengthening conceptual understanding in weaker subjects.
