Apple sets up its first education hub in India, opens Apple Manufacturing Academy in Bengaluru

Apple has launched its first education-focused hub in India with the opening of the Apple Manufacturing Academy in Bengaluru, marking a significant expansion of the company’s skills and training initiatives in the country. The academy is designed to support Apple’s growing manufacturing ecosystem in India by offering specialised training in advanced manufacturing processes, quality systems, and operations management.

Located in Bengaluru, the hub will train engineers and operations staff working with Apple’s supplier partners. The programmes will focus on areas such as precision manufacturing, smart factory practices, process optimisation, and sustainable manufacturing. Apple said the initiative aims to help suppliers improve productivity, product quality, and workplace standards, while also building a stronger local talent base.

The academy will operate through a mix of classroom instruction, hands-on workshops, and on-site training at supplier facilities. Apple experts, along with external specialists, will conduct sessions covering core manufacturing disciplines as well as emerging technologies relevant to electronics production. The curriculum has been designed to align with global manufacturing standards followed by Apple across its supply chain.

According to the company, the education hub will play a key role as India becomes an increasingly important base for Apple’s manufacturing operations. Over the past few years, Apple has expanded iPhone and component manufacturing in the country through partners such as Foxconn, Pegatron, and Tata Group entities. The new academy is expected to strengthen supplier capabilities as production scales up.

Apple highlighted that the Bengaluru academy builds on its existing efforts in India to support skill development and employment generation. The company already works with suppliers to train workers in areas such as health and safety, leadership, and technical skills. The new facility, Apple said, brings these efforts under a more structured and advanced training framework focused specifically on manufacturing excellence.
