Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore, is facing a scheduling challenge as the Common University Entrance Test for Undergraduate admissions is likely to overlap with the university’s semester examinations for undergraduate courses.
University officials said the CUET window, expected to be held between May and June, coincides with the tentative schedule of DAVV’s second and fourth semester examinations. A large number of DAVV students are eligible to appear for CUET for admission to central universities and other participating institutions, raising concerns over potential clashes.
According to officials, DAVV conducts undergraduate examinations across multiple colleges affiliated with the university, making rescheduling a complex exercise. Any change in the examination calendar would require coordination with affiliated colleges, examination centres, and evaluation timelines.
Senior university functionaries said the matter has been flagged internally and discussions are underway to assess possible options, including adjusting exam dates or shifting certain papers to avoid overlap for students appearing in CUET. The final decision will depend on the official announcement of CUET dates by the National Testing Agency.
Academicians pointed out that CUET has become a key pathway for undergraduate admissions across the country, and many DAVV students plan to appear for the entrance test alongside their university exams. A clash could put students under pressure and affect their performance.
The university administration said it is awaiting clarity on CUET dates before issuing any revised schedule. Students have been advised to stay updated through official notifications as DAVV works on a solution to ensure that examinees are not disadvantaged.
Officials added that once the CUET timetable is released, the university will take a call on necessary adjustments and communicate the revised academic plan to colleges and students in time.
