Mental health awareness is gaining importance in schools across Rajasthan as educators increasingly focus on student well-being alongside academic performance.
Schools in cities such as Jaipur, Jodhpur and Udaipur have begun introducing wellness sessions, counselling support and awareness activities aimed at helping students manage stress, anxiety and academic pressure. The shift comes as educators observe growing concerns around examination stress, social expectations and the impact of digital lifestyles on young learners.
Teachers say students today face challenges that extend beyond classrooms. Competitive examinations, career uncertainty, social media exposure and changing family dynamics have all contributed to a growing conversation around emotional well-being.
Many institutions are now encouraging open discussions about mental health, creating safe spaces where students can share concerns and seek guidance without fear of judgment. Some schools have also partnered with psychologists and counsellors to conduct workshops on stress management, emotional resilience and healthy coping mechanisms.
Education experts believe that supporting mental wellness can positively influence academic performance, classroom participation and overall student development. Research has consistently shown that emotionally healthy students are more likely to remain engaged in learning and perform better academically.
Parents are also becoming more receptive to conversations around mental health, with many schools reporting increased participation in awareness programmes and counselling initiatives.
Experts say the growing focus on student well-being represents a significant shift in educational priorities. Rather than measuring success solely through examination results, schools are increasingly recognising the importance of emotional resilience, confidence and psychological health.
As awareness continues to grow, mental wellness programmes are expected to become a more regular feature of school education across Rajasthan.
