The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has opened the List of Candidates submission process for the 2027 Class 10 and Class 12 Board Examinations, beginning the formal registration process for schools affiliated with the board.
The submission window opened on September 24, 2026, and schools have been instructed to complete the process within the prescribed period. CBSE has issued the relevant notice through its examination circulars.
The List of Candidates, commonly referred to as the LOC, contains important student information required by the board for conducting the examinations.
Schools are responsible for checking and submitting candidate details, including student identity information, subjects and other examination-related data.
The process is particularly important because errors in candidate information can create difficulties later during admit-card generation, examination administration and result processing.
CBSE has therefore advised schools to carefully verify the information submitted through the LOC process.
The registration process also comes as CBSE prepares for the 2027 Board Examinations for the 2026-27 academic session.
Students appearing for Class 10 and Class 12 examinations should therefore confirm their subject combinations and personal details with their schools.
For Class 10 students, the registration process is also relevant in the context of CBSE’s revised examination structure, under which the board has introduced two examination opportunities for Class 10 students.
The first examination remains the main board examination, while the second examination provides an additional opportunity under the board’s revised framework.
Schools need to ensure that candidate information corresponds accurately with the subjects and examination arrangements applicable to each student.
The LOC process is primarily handled by schools rather than individual students. This means students and parents should communicate with their school administration if they notice errors in names, dates of birth, subjects or other submitted details.
The CBSE has also been issuing other examination-related updates for the 2026-27 cycle, including sample question papers and curriculum-related guidance.
The registration process is therefore one component of a broader preparation cycle leading towards the 2027 Board Examinations.
The board’s final date sheet for the 2027 examinations is expected to be issued separately. Until then, students should avoid relying on unofficial dates circulating on social media.
For Class 12 students, accurate registration is particularly important because board examination results are used for higher-education applications across India and internationally.
Universities and entrance systems may use board examination information alongside entrance-test scores and other eligibility criteria.
Class 10 students also need accurate subject records because their board certificates and marksheets form part of their long-term academic documentation.
The current LOC process is therefore an administrative step with consequences extending beyond the examination hall.
Schools should maintain accurate records and complete the submission within the prescribed deadline, while students should verify their information before the school finalises the data.
CBSE’s official website remains the appropriate source for subsequent notices concerning the 2027 examination schedule, admit cards, practical examinations, sample papers and other board-related instructions.
