AI Is Creating New Opportunities Across Industries
The demand for AI skills is being driven by the technology’s expanding use across the economy.
Government organisations are already using AI and cloud infrastructure to modernise public services. The Office of the Controller General of Patents, Designs & Trademarks, under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, modernised its trademark application platform using Oracle Cloud Infrastructure AI Infrastructure and Oracle Autonomous AI Database.
The AI-powered platform enables faster and data-driven trademark clearance checks, allowing applicants and agents to search existing trademarks before filing applications.
The financial sector is also adopting AI. Tamilnad Mercantile Bank is using AI capabilities within Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications to automate processes, improve productivity and enhance customer experiences. TVS Credit is using data science and an AI lakehouse to improve credit scoring and accelerate loan processing.
For students, these developments demonstrate that AI skills are relevant far beyond conventional technology jobs.
Startups Are Adding to the Demand for AI Talent
India’s startup ecosystem is also emerging as an important testing ground for artificial intelligence.
AI startups are working across areas such as customer service, cybersecurity, logistics, education and climate resilience. One example highlighted by Oracle is Convin.ai, an AI-powered contact centre startup that uses cloud infrastructure to build and train large language models.
According to Oracle, the company used the infrastructure to automate quality assurance, identify performance-driving behaviours and provide personalised coaching, while improving operational performance by nearly 15 percent.
Such developments are expanding the range of career opportunities available to people with AI, data and cloud skills.
