EU-India Student Ambassador Network Launched to Strengthen Higher Education Collaboration

The European Union (EU) and India have launched the EU-India Student Ambassador Network, selecting 40 student ambassadors from 20 leading Indian higher education institutions to promote academic collaboration, student mobility and cross-cultural engagement. The initiative is expected to strengthen educational ties between India and Europe while creating greater awareness about international study and research opportunities.

The selected ambassadors will represent their institutions by sharing information about higher education opportunities in Europe, scholarship programmes, student exchange initiatives and research collaborations. They will also organize outreach activities, peer engagement sessions and awareness campaigns to help students explore global learning opportunities.

Education experts believe student ambassador programmes play an important role in encouraging international academic mobility. By connecting prospective applicants with students who have firsthand knowledge of global education systems, such initiatives help simplify the application process and promote informed decision-making.

The network also aligns with India’s growing emphasis on internationalization of higher education under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
