The window to challenge the provisional answer key of the Joint Admission Test for Masters 2026 will close today, bringing to an end the limited period provided to candidates to contest discrepancies in the responses released earlier this week.
The examination, conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology system for admission to postgraduate science programmes, is a gateway to Masters courses at the IITs and other participating institutions. Thousands of candidates who appeared for the test have been reviewing the answer key uploaded on the official portal.
Aspirants seeking to raise objections are required to log in through the candidate portal, select the question they wish to challenge and upload supporting documents along with the prescribed fee. Officials have stated that only representations submitted within the stipulated time and in the prescribed format will be considered for review.
Subject experts will examine the challenges received. If any objection is found valid, the answer key will be revised accordingly before the declaration of results. The final answer key will form the basis for evaluation and preparation of the merit list.
Candidates have been advised not to wait until the last hours to submit their objections, as heavy traffic on the website could slow down the process. Once the window closes, no further representations will be entertained.
The IIT JAM remains one of the principal routes for science graduates seeking entry into advanced academic programmes, and clarity around the answer key is crucial for ensuring transparency and fairness in the selection process.
