The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has opened the examination form submission process for private candidates appearing in the Class 10 and Class 12 examinations for the 2026-27 academic session.
The CBSE issued separate notices for private candidates of Class 10 and Senior Secondary Class 12 examinations on October 7, 2026. Eligible candidates can submit their examination forms through the board’s official website.
Who Are Private Candidates?
Private candidates are students who are eligible to appear for CBSE examinations without being enrolled as regular students in a CBSE-affiliated school for the relevant examination.
The category can include candidates appearing for improvement, students who need to reappear in subjects and other candidates who meet the conditions specified by the board.
Eligibility is not identical for every candidate category. Therefore, students should carefully read the CBSE notification applicable to their situation before submitting an examination form.
Class 10 and Class 12 Forms Available
CBSE has issued separate examination-form notifications for Class 10 and Class 12 private candidates.
The board has provided application instructions, fees, eligibility conditions and other requirements through its official examination notices.
Students should make sure that their personal details, subject information and other application details are entered correctly.
Any mistake in the form could create problems later during examination-related processes.
Why Students Should Apply Carefully
Private candidates should not treat the application form as a routine registration process.
The information submitted through the form can affect examination records, subject details and other administrative processes.
Students should first identify the correct category under which they are applying.
They should then review the applicable eligibility requirements and keep the required documents and information ready before starting the online application.
After completing the form, candidates should save the confirmation and payment details.
CBSE Board Exams 2027 Preparation
The release of private-candidate forms is an important reminder that the 2027 board examination cycle is already moving forward.
Students appearing as private candidates should use the remaining preparation time strategically.
They should obtain the latest syllabus, identify weak subjects and begin practising sample papers and previous examination questions.
Candidates should also monitor CBSE announcements for examination dates, admit cards, examination-centre information and other instructions.
CBSE has also been taking steps to make examination-related processes more student-friendly and transparent, including recent communication around registration and the List of Candidates process for the 2026-27 board examination cycle.
Check the Official CBSE Website
Students should rely on the official CBSE website for the final application deadline, fee details and eligibility requirements.
They should avoid depending solely on social media posts or unofficial websites because private-candidate eligibility can vary according to the candidate’s circumstances.
For students planning to appear in CBSE Class 10 or Class 12 examinations as private candidates, completing the application correctly and within the notified deadline should be the immediate priority.
