AICTE Revises 2026-27 Academic Calendar, September 14 Set as Key Admission Deadline

The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has revised the academic calendar for the 2026-27 session, giving students and institutions updated timelines for admissions and the start of classes. The revised schedule applies to technical education and also covers management programmes operating under the AICTE framework.

Under the revised calendar, first-year classes for technical programmes began on 17 August 2026. However, students who are still seeking admission against notified vacant seats have additional time. AICTE has set 14 September 2026 as the last date for admissions against vacant seats.

The same date is also important for students seeking lateral entry into the second year of eligible technical programmes. This route allows eligible students to join the second year directly, subject to the applicable admission requirements and availability of seats.
