Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday said that Uttar Pradesh is moving towards setting new benchmarks in the field of education, with the state government placing renewed emphasis on improving both access and quality across schools and higher education institutions.
Addressing an event in the state, Singh said that education must not be limited to the expansion of institutions alone. He underlined that the real measure of progress lies in the standard of learning offered to students and the opportunities created for their overall development.
Singh noted that efforts are being made to strengthen the academic environment in schools and colleges so that students receive education that prepares them for both professional and social responsibilities. He said the government is focusing on improving infrastructure, encouraging innovation in teaching and ensuring that educational institutions respond to the needs of a rapidly changing economy.
The minister also stressed the importance of equipping young people with skills that match emerging employment opportunities. According to him, the education system must help students develop practical knowledge along with academic learning so that they can contribute meaningfully to the country’s growth.
Uttar Pradesh, he said, has the potential to become a leader in the education sector if sustained attention is given to quality teaching, modern facilities and policies that place students at the centre of the learning process.
