Mumbai hosted the TechEDU India Summit 2026 today where policymakers, educators, edtech innovators and industry representatives converged to discuss the direction of India’s education system at a pivotal moment of technological disruption. The summit, held at the NESCO Centre in Goregaon, focused on what organisers described as building India into a tech-enabled education economy while addressing the challenges and opportunities posed by artificial intelligence and digital learning.
The full-day event brought together hundreds of leaders from school education, higher education institutions, government bodies and technology companies. Sessions ranged from debates on the integration of AI in teaching and learning to strategies for equipping educators and administrators for future skills demands. In addition to panel discussions, the programme included showcases of emerging edtech tools and a TechEdu Awards Gala recognising innovation in the education sector.
Organisers said the summit aimed to provide a platform where constructive dialogue could take place on curriculum reform, digital infrastructure and the readiness of educational institutions to adapt to rapid change. There was emphasis on creating partnerships across sectors to cultivate a workforce prepared for evolving economic and technological landscapes.
Stakeholders attending the event highlighted the need for balanced adoption of technology, ensuring that digital tools enhance pedagogy without undermining foundational learning. Educators expressed that meaningful implementation must be accompanied by professional development and systemic support to address inequalities in access.
The summit concludes with hopes that key insights and collaborations forged over the course of the day will feed into broader national discussions on education policy and innovation strategies for 2026 and beyond.
