Schools across several districts in Uttar Pradesh remained closed on March 5 and March 6 following directions issued by the state government, with local administrations implementing the order across government and private institutions.
District authorities in cities including Agra, Prayagraj, Jhansi, Mirzapur and Pilibhit announced the closure of schools for the two days. The decision was communicated through official notices issued by the respective district administrations in coordination with education department officials.
The directive applied to schools operating under different boards and was implemented as a precautionary administrative measure. District magistrates instructed school authorities to ensure compliance with the order and inform students, parents and staff about the temporary closure.
Education officials said that classes would resume as per the regular schedule once the closure period ends. Schools have also been asked to update parents through official communication channels to avoid confusion regarding attendance and academic activities.
The temporary shutdown affected routine classroom teaching across the districts, though authorities indicated that the decision was taken in view of administrative and public considerations during the period.
