More than 1.25 crore parents and guardians turned up at government schools across Rajasthan on Saturday for a statewide parent teacher meeting, marking one of the largest such exercises undertaken by the state’s education department.
The mega PTM was organised simultaneously in government schools to strengthen engagement between families and schools, review student progress, and discuss academic and co-curricular outcomes. Education officials said the turnout reflected growing participation of parents in school-level decision making and monitoring of learning outcomes.
Teachers interacted with parents on attendance, classroom performance, learning gaps, and behavioural aspects of students. Schools also shared details of ongoing academic programmes, assessment methods, and initiatives aimed at improving foundational learning and overall school functioning.
Senior officials from the education department and district administrations visited schools to oversee the exercise and gather feedback from parents. According to officials, suggestions received during the meetings will be used to fine-tune teaching strategies and school management practices in the coming months.
The state government has positioned the large-scale PTM as part of its broader push to improve the quality of public schooling through regular feedback, transparency, and closer coordination between teachers and families.
