Schools across the National Capital Region are preparing for the upcoming annual sports season, with multiple inter-school competitions scheduled between December and February. The events are expected to attract thousands of students from Delhi, Noida, Gurugram, and Ghaziabad, marking one of the busiest sporting periods of the academic year.
Schools have begun conducting internal selections for athletics, football, basketball, badminton, table tennis, and track-and-field events. Coaches are organizing intensive training sessions for shortlisted students, with a special focus on fitness, discipline, and team coordination. Several schools are also upgrading their sports facilities, including turf grounds, running tracks, and indoor courts.
Sports coordinators from various institutions met earlier this month to finalize event dates, venues, and safety protocols. With winter at its peak, schools have also outlined guidelines related to warm-up routines, hydration breaks, and medical support, ensuring a safe environment for participants.
Parents and student councils have expressed excitement about the return of large-scale sporting events, which had seen disruptions in recent years due to scheduling and weather constraints. Many believe that participation in sports significantly contributes to student confidence, leadership skills, and overall well-being.
The first major inter-school athletics meet is expected to kick off in the first week of December, with detailed schedules to be circulated soon. Organizers plan to release real-time updates and results on school websites and social platforms throughout the season.
