New Delhi: Kendriya Vidyalayas across the country have recorded a steady rise in enrolment over the past academic year, reflecting growing demand among parents for access to centrally run schools known for relatively stable academic standards and affordable fees.
Officials from the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan said the increase has been particularly visible in urban centres where parents seek admission for children transferring from private institutions or moving with government service postings.
The school network, which primarily caters to children of central government employees, has also seen applications rise from other categories of students in areas where seats are available under existing admission norms.
Education officials attribute the trend to consistent curriculum delivery, experienced teaching staff and the nationwide presence of the school system that allows students to continue their education smoothly when families relocate.
The government has been expanding infrastructure in several regions to accommodate the growing demand, while the education ministry continues to review proposals for establishing new Kendriya Vidyalayas in districts where access to central schools remains limited.
