Ranchi: The Jharkhand Raksha Shakti University organised a national seminar addressing library resources and the challenges facing knowledge centres in the current era. The event convened professionals from library science, faculty members, students and sector experts to evaluate contemporary demands on academic libraries. Discussions centred on expanding digital access, strengthening cataloguing systems, improving user services and coping with increased information volume. Officials stressed the need for new frameworks to support resource sharing, digitisation and professional training, with participants sharing case studies and potential strategies. The seminar underscored the role of libraries in enabling research and learning in higher education.
At Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, celebrations were held to mark Hindi Day, reaffirming institutional support for the national language. Participants engaged in literary events that highlighted Hindi’s contribution to Indian culture and scholarship, affirming the importance of promoting language learning alongside academic pursuits.
In another development reported from academic circles, the Indian Institute of Management, Raipur signed a Memorandum of Understanding with The Sports Foundation. The agreement will focus on joint research initiatives that aim to enhance educational practices and outcomes, particularly where management and sports studies intersect. Reports also noted that Sarala Birla University has entered into a collaboration with the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology to extend practical training and technical education opportunities, a move designed to strengthen skill development among students.
