The National Testing Agency has commenced the April session of the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) 2026, with candidates appearing at centres across the country under revised reporting and examination protocols. The exam is being conducted in multiple shifts, following standardised procedures aimed at ensuring smooth conduct.
According to official guidelines, candidates are required to report at their respective centres well before the scheduled time to complete verification and frisking procedures. Entry to the examination hall is permitted only upon production of a valid admit card along with an authorised photo identity proof.
The agency has reiterated that candidates must adhere to the prescribed dress code and avoid carrying prohibited items, including electronic devices and study material, inside the examination premises. Strict compliance measures have been put in place to maintain fairness and prevent malpractice.
Candidates advised to follow strict reporting schedule and exam-day instructions
Officials said late entry beyond the gate closing time will not be permitted under any circumstances. Candidates have been advised to carefully check their admit cards for details related to exam centre, shift timing and reporting instructions.
Initial feedback from students suggests that the examination maintained a moderate level of difficulty, with a balanced distribution of questions across subjects. A detailed analysis and provisional answer key are expected to be released by the agency following the completion of all shifts.
The April session is a crucial opportunity for candidates seeking to improve their scores, as the best of the two sessions will be considered for final ranking. Further updates, including response sheets and answer keys, will be made available on the official website in due course.
