Registration for the Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced) 2026 has commenced for foreign nationals, including OCI and PIO candidates, marking the start of the application process for admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology. The registration window opened on April 6 and will remain active until May 2, as per the official schedule.
Candidates seeking admission through this category are required to complete the application process online by submitting personal, academic and eligibility details. The process also includes payment of the prescribed application fee within the stipulated deadline. Only those who successfully complete all steps will be issued admit cards for the examination.
JEE Advanced is the second stage of the engineering entrance process and is conducted for candidates who qualify the JEE Main examination. It serves as the gateway for admission to undergraduate programmes at the IITs and other participating institutions.
Candidates to complete application online: eligibility and fee details to be followed carefully
Officials have advised applicants to carefully review the eligibility criteria and ensure that all required documents are uploaded correctly during the registration process. Any discrepancies in submitted information may lead to rejection of the application at a later stage.
Foreign and OCI or PIO candidates are not required to qualify JEE Main and can apply directly under their respective categories, subject to eligibility conditions specified by the authorities. However, they must meet academic requirements and follow the guidelines outlined in the official notification.
The examination is expected to be conducted later this year, with further details on admit cards and exam schedules to be announced in due course. Candidates have been encouraged to regularly check official updates to stay informed about important dates and instructions.
With IIT admissions remaining highly competitive, the opening of registration marks a crucial step for international applicants planning to pursue engineering education in India.
