New Delhi, 13 February 2026: The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has successfully concluded its Pan-India placement drive, held from 10 to 13 February 2026 across multiple regional centres of the country. The four-day initiative aimed to bridge the gap between education and employment for the university’s vast learner base by facilitating direct engagement with employers and expanding access to job opportunities.
Organised by IGNOU’s Campus Placement Cell, the drive covered major Regional Centres in Bijapur, Mumbai, Nagpur, Pune, Bengaluru and Dehradun, reflecting a decentralised approach designed to make placements more accessible rather than concentrating recruitment at a single location.
Leading recruiters from sectors such as Fintech, Information Technology and business process outsourcing (BPO) participated in the initiative, offering roles ranging from Assistant Relationship Manager and Customer Support Executive to HR Generalist, Sales Executive and Collection Officer, among others. Competitive salary packages and performance-linked incentives were also on offer, giving both current students and alumni tangible career prospects.
The placement drive was conducted under the guidance of IGNOU’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Uma Kanjilal, and is part of the university’s ongoing commitment to enhancing learner employability and aligning open and distance education with industry needs. IGNOU’s expansive regional network, which spans urban, semi-urban and rural areas, played a crucial role in bringing opportunities closer to learners from diverse socio-economic backgrounds.
By decentralising the placement process and engaging employers across regions, IGNOU has reaffirmed its mission of extending career support beyond traditional classroom boundaries, reinforcing the value of flexible education in a rapidly evolving job market. The drive is expected to have a lasting impact on the professional trajectories of many graduates and current students.
