The Board of School Education Haryana has announced that it will introduce board exam centres in village locations starting with the 2026 academic session. Villages where at least 100 students register for Class 10 and Class 12 exams will receive their own local centre. Students in smaller villages will be assigned to the closest available centre, reducing the long distances many currently travel for exams. The change is intended to ease the burden on students in rural areas with limited transport access.
More than 520,000 students are expected to sit for the board exams in 2026, an increase of over 56,000 from the previous year. The schedule sets Class 12 exams from February 25 to April 1, and Class 10 exams from February 26 to March 20.
Under the revised policy, question papers will include QR codes for security. Private school staff will be excluded from invigilation duties, and exam supervisors will not be assigned to centres in their own home villages. These measures are designed to enhance fairness and oversight during the exams.
Currently, about 1,480 exam centres operate across the state. Officials are reviewing additional sites, including villages such as Sampla and Gatoli, as possible new centres under the updated policy. A final list of centres will be published ahead of the exam session.
