Google has introduced free practice tests for the Scholastic Assessment Test, or SAT, on its artificial intelligence platform Gemini, expanding access to preparation resources for students planning to apply to universities abroad.
The company said the new feature allows students to take full-length, SAT-style practice tests directly within Gemini. The tests follow the latest digital SAT format and are designed to mirror the structure, timing, and question patterns of the actual examination.
According to Google, the practice tests have been developed in line with guidelines issued by the College Board, the body that conducts the SAT. Students can attempt sections covering Reading and Writing as well as Math, with Gemini providing instant scoring and detailed feedback after completion.
The feature is available at no cost and can be accessed by students using Gemini on the web. Google said the aim is to support learners who may not have access to expensive coaching or paid test-preparation platforms, especially in regions where the SAT is increasingly being taken in its digital format.
The SAT remains a key component of undergraduate admissions in the United States and is also accepted by universities in several other countries. With this move, Google joins a growing list of technology companies exploring the use of AI tools to support exam preparation and learning support at scale.
Google has not indicated whether similar free test-prep tools will be extended to other competitive exams in the future, but said Gemini will continue to add education-focused features in the coming months.
