In an effort to reduce the gap in access to digital education in tribal and remote areas, two Digital Pathshalas have been launched in the villages of Guttulaputtu and Lochaluputtu in the ASR district of Andhra Pradesh. These centres were introduced to strengthen educational opportunities for children and educators in underserved communities.
The initiative is led by Aarohan, a non-profit organisation focused on inclusive education and community support. Each Pathshala is furnished with computers, digital learning resources, and relevant educational software to support interactive and technology-based learning experiences for local students. The design of these centres aims to improve digital literacy and engagement among students who previously had limited access to such tools.
A core feature of the programme involves structured training for both pupils and teachers. Alongside students, educators will participate in dedicated training sessions to build their skills in operating computers and using digital equipment as part of their teaching practices. This approach seeks to enable teachers to adopt digital tools confidently and support student learning in a technology-oriented environment.
The Digital Pathshalas represent a focused attempt to overcome digital barriers and support quality education in tribal regions where students often lack basic access to technology and online resources.
