The Central Board of Secondary Education has deferred a limited set of Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations scheduled for March 3, citing administrative reasons. The board clarified that only the papers slated for that date have been rescheduled, while the remainder of the examination timetable remains unchanged.
According to an official notification, the Class 10 examinations originally set for March 3, 2026, will now be conducted on March 11, 2026. For Class 12 students, the paper scheduled on the same date has been postponed to April 10, 2026. The board did not provide subject-specific reasons for the extended gap in the revised Class 12 date and reiterated that the decision was taken purely on administrative grounds.
The rescheduled Class 10 examinations include Tibetan, German, National Cadet Corps, Bhoti, Limboo, Lepcha, and Carnatic Music (Vocal). For Class 12, the affected subject is Legal Studies.
The Central Board of Secondary Education has instructed schools to promptly inform students and parents about the revised dates to avoid confusion during the examination period. Candidates have been advised to consult the official notice for detailed information.
The board further stated that Class 10 and Class 12 examinations are conducted under stringent protocols to ensure uniformity and transparency across centres, and any modification to the schedule follows a careful administrative review.
