As Class 10 and 12 board examinations commenced on February 17 across the country, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) issued a public advisory cautioning students and parents against misinformation, particularly rumours of question paper leaks circulating on social media platforms.
In its official notice, the board categorically dismissed claims of leaked papers, describing them as baseless attempts to create panic and mislead candidates during a crucial academic period. CBSE stated that it has a robust and secure examination system in place and is closely monitoring digital platforms to curb the spread of false information.
The board further warned that individuals found responsible for circulating fake content or engaging in activities intended to disrupt the examination process would face strict action under relevant legal provisions. Students were urged not to engage with or forward unverified material and to rely exclusively on updates published through official CBSE channels.
With lakhs of candidates appearing for the nationwide examinations, the advisory underscores the recurring challenge of managing misinformation in high-stakes public exams. Even as the exams begin under tightened protocols, the battle against digital rumours continues alongside the academic test itself.
