The Class 12 Chemistry examination conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education on Friday concluded across centres in the country, with students describing the paper as largely balanced and in line with the prescribed syllabus.
Initial feedback from candidates suggested that the question paper covered a broad spread of topics, with a mix of conceptual and application based questions. While a section of students found the numericals moderately time consuming, many said the paper did not contain unexpected questions.
Teachers who reviewed the paper informally noted that it adhered closely to the sample paper pattern released earlier by the board. The weightage of organic, inorganic and physical chemistry was seen as proportionate, and internal choices offered flexibility to students.
Soon after the examination ended, coaching institutes and subject experts began circulating unofficial answer keys and paper analyses online. These preliminary solutions are expected to help students estimate their scores, though the board will release the official answer key only at a later stage if required.
The Chemistry examination is considered a crucial paper for science stream students, particularly those seeking admission to engineering, medical and pure science courses. With board examinations underway, schools and parents are closely monitoring student performance amid heightened competition for undergraduate seats.
The remaining papers of the Class 12 board examinations will continue as per schedule, with the board reiterating guidelines on adherence to examination rules and centre protocols.
