GUTTULAPUTTU and LOCHALIPUTTU, Andhra Pradesh The district administration of Alluri Sitharama Raju inaugurated two Digital Pathshalas at Guttulaputtu and Lochaliputtu designed to strengthen digital learning opportunities for tribal students and educators. District Collector S Dinesh Kumar presided over the launch, marking a focused effort to bridge the digital education gap in remote areas.
The centres have been fitted with computers, educational software and digital learning aids funded under corporate social responsibility contributions from the non-profit organisation Aarohan and Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation. Each Pathshala has 15 computers dedicated to students in local Ashram schools, providing a new platform for interactive and technology based learning.
Officials said the effort aims to prepare students in government schools to engage confidently with digital tools and compete at wider academic and professional levels. Aarohan’s founder, Rani Patel, noted that access to digital resources should extend to tribal and remote communities, and that the centres will support students and teachers equally.
A key feature of the project is a ‘train the trainers’ structure, under which teachers will receive comprehensive instruction in using the new technology effectively in classrooms. By building educator capacity, the programme aims to sustain digital engagement beyond the initial roll out.
