The University of Delhi has revised the schedule for Spot Admission Round 1 for BTech admissions for the 2026-27 academic session. The change is important for students who are still seeking admission to the university’s undergraduate engineering programmes and are taking part in the spot admission process.
According to the revised schedule, the allocation for Spot Admission Round 1 was announced on August 6, 2026, at 4:59 pm. Students who received a seat have been given a limited window to accept it. The seat acceptance process began at 4:59 pm on August 6 and will remain open until 4:59 pm on August 9.
After students accept their allotted seats, the Faculty of Technology will verify and approve their applications. The verification process began on August 6 and will continue until 4:59 pm on August 10. Students whose applications are approved will then need to complete the fee payment process.
The final deadline for paying the admission fee is August 11, 2026, at 4:59 pm. Students who fail to complete the required steps within the prescribed deadlines could lose their allotted seats. The university has advised candidates to follow the admission schedule carefully and complete each stage on time.
The revised schedule comes as Delhi University continues its BTech admission process for the 2026-27 academic year. The university’s admission portal lists BTech admission information, including the admission schedule, category-wise cut-off ranks and other notices for applicants.
For students, the spot round can be an important opportunity if they were not able to secure a seat in earlier rounds or are still looking for an available option. However, receiving an allotment does not by itself complete the admission process. Candidates must accept the seat, wait for verification and then pay the required admission fee within the specified period.
The latest schedule also shows why students need to keep checking official admission notices during the counselling period. Admission timelines can change, and missing a deadline can affect a candidate’s chances of securing a seat.
Delhi University had also conducted admission under the Children/Widows of Personnel of the Armed Forces category before the revised spot round schedule was announced. The university had set separate dates for seat acceptance, verification and fee payment under that process.
Students applying for BTech admission should therefore avoid relying only on social media updates or unofficial counselling information. The university’s admission portal remains the key source for schedules, notices and admission-related instructions.
The development is particularly relevant for students who are making final decisions about their undergraduate education. Engineering admissions can involve several stages, including seat allocation, acceptance, document verification and fee payment. A delay at any one stage can create problems even after a student receives an allotment.
For candidates who have received a seat through Spot Admission Round 1, the immediate priority is to complete the acceptance process before the August 9 deadline, monitor the verification status and ensure that the admission fee is paid by August 11 at 4:59 pm.
With the admission season moving towards its final stages, students should keep their documents ready, check their dashboards regularly and follow only the latest instructions issued by Delhi University.
