New Delhi, February 6, 2026. The ninth edition of Pariksha Pe Charcha (PPC) began this morning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacting with students, educators and parents from across the country as part of the annual initiative designed to address examination stress and preparation challenges ahead of the Class 10 and 12 board exams.
The programme was telecast live from 10 am on national television and digital channels including Doordarshan and the Prime Minister’s official YouTube channel, with additional streams made available on several over-the-top platforms.
This year’s edition recorded record participation, with official figures indicating more than 4.5 crore registrations comprising over 4.19 crore students, nearly 25 lakh teachers and around six lakh parents. Registrations for Pariksha Pe Charcha 2026 closed in January after the MyGov portal competition that ran from December 1, 2025, to January 11, 2026.
In his address, the Prime Minister emphasised the importance of confidence, time management and understanding individual pace in learning, urging students to build a strong foundation in school and balance academic focus with life skills. He advised students to approach examinations calmly, avoid undue pressure and pursue holistic growth rather than limiting their goals to marks alone.
Modi also spoke about the role of parents and teachers in supporting young learners, suggesting that encouragement and attention to individual strengths help students perform better. The interaction included questions from students and guidance on practical study strategies, coping with exam stress and maintaining focus during preparation.
The run-up to the main event saw nationwide student-centric activities, including the Swadeshi Sankalp Daud, quizzes and writing competitions. These engagements drew participation from millions of students and set the tone for the national dialogue on confidence and examination readiness.
Pariksha Pe Charcha began in 2018 as an event where the Prime Minister engaged directly with school students. Over the years it has grown into one of the largest education outreach efforts in the country, reflecting a shift toward addressing student well-being and mental health alongside academic achievement.
Participants and organisers noted that the interaction programme continues to play a significant role in alleviating examination anxiety and encouraging a constructive approach to learning.
